iZettle is a small hardware device which is a card reader that could plug in to modern mobile phones like iPhones, iPads, tablets and other several Android smart phones. This device allows to do the same process which you do payment with your credit card. You can swipe your credit card though the device and sign for your purchase.
Jacob de Geer is the co-founder of of this new method and it was launched in Sweden an year ago. And now it is used by more than 75000 small businesses and individuals around six countries.
The big question in the UK, though, is whether consumers will fancy the idea of having their cards swiped into this device. And here there's a hitch. There are big names backing iZettle including the mobile operator EE, and the payments firms Mastercard and American Express.
